Tournament Rules

  • Registrations not fully paid up by the payment deadline will be cancelled and withdrawn from the tournament.
  • No refunds will be provided after the draw date.  Refunds will be subject to a $10 administration fee.
  • Prize money will not be awarded for defaulted or incomplete matches.
  • All events are capped. Registrations will close when the event is full or by the registration deadline.
  • Participants may not enter more than one event with the same start time.
  • The Tournament Committee may modify or cancel events and return entry fees.
  • The Referee will assign unrated players a temporary rating for this tournament (see TTCAN Ratings for information about Canada's rating system).
  • If an unrated player misrepresents their skill level in order to enter a rating event, the Referee may remove that player from the event.
  • Current regulations in the ITTF Handbook will govern match play.
  • Racquets must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 2.04 of the current ITTF Regulations and the playing surface(s) must be covered with rubber listed on the current LARC.
  • Only sport shirts, shorts or skirts colored differently than the ball and clean, non-marking, rubber-soled gym shoes will be allowed in playing areas. Track suit pants may be worn with the Referee’s permission. Street shoes are prohibited in all playing areas.
  • Default time for all events is 5 minutes after the start time.
  • Audio/video recordings of the tournament made by representatives of the Tournament Committee are the property of the Tournament Committee and my be used in results reports or promotional materials.

Event Schedule & Awards

Event Formats

All matches will be best of 5, except Semi-finals and Finals in the Singles Championship "A" Division, which will be best of 7.  For events starting with a round robin, two players will advance to the knockout stage, except for Open Singles (see below)

Open Singles

The Open Singles event is 3 events in one.

An Open Singles Qualification Round Robin will start at 10:00 AM.  

Note: Players with the highest TTCAN rankings may receive a bye and start first in the Championship Round Robin at 11:30 AM.

From the Qualification Round Robin:

  • 1st place will advance to the Championship Division RR
  • 2nd place will advance to the "B" Division RR
  • 3rd place will advance to the "C" Division RR

The final rounds (SKO) for each of the three divisions are expected to start at approximately 1 PM.

There will be no movement between divisions after the qualification stage.
